Fornite Verified/Unverified acc Question

Hey guys,

May someone please explain what the requirements are for a Fortnite account to be considered unverified? Is it just the email that isn't verified and who ever gets access to the account can change the password without the owner's knowledge?

if your account is unverified you cannot link it to psn/xbox/nintendo switch also if you get hacked and your account is unverified you will hsve lost your account and once the password is changed it gone but if its verified then the original owner can request a password change
